Scalloped Tomatoes


Makes 6 servings

 

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup butter

1 small onion, chopped

2 cups fresh bread crumbs

1 tsp salt

1 tsp basil

2'4 tsp pepper

5 medium tomatoes - sliced

4 tsp sugar

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 

In a 2 quart pan over medium heat in hot butter, cook onion until tender. 

Then stir in crumbs, salt, pepper and basil. 

In shallow quart pan, place 1/4 of tomatoes, 1 tsp sugar, 1/4 mixture bread. 

Repeat ending with bread mixture. 

Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
