Designs of a New Life
Anna Yesayan, master tailor at Alteration Express, is living the American dream. "I enjoy my friends and family. I am self-dependent and now own a car and a house," she says happily. Anna has worked hard to find her place in the world.
What does Yesayan like best
about America since her move from Russia? "Sewing for people.
I like to do a good job of whatever I do. Making clients happy
makes me happy." Probe a little more and Yesayan says she likes
to laugh, go out to dinner and take walks in the park with her friends
and her granddaughter, Adrianna. "I enjoy Russian parties,
good food, music and dancing, things I was not able to do before. I
am so happy to see how much I have accomplished in the last nine years."
Yesayan's dreams revolve around making other people happy. She loves making designer clothes for women. She’s also looking for clients for custom drapes. "I am living a secure life in America. I hope someday that my daughter and son-in-law, who are still in Russia, will come to Seattle for a visit."
Yesayan says Crossroads is a deeply special place for her. "People come from all over to meet, eat, dance and relax. I love Crossroads!"
